Me quede pensando sobre las razones de porque no pongo mas sobre técnicas de innovación empresarial.
Aquí les va una: Dibujemos un búho:

Esa es la pura verdad. No hay recetas mágicas por mas que las deseemos y por mas publicaciones que haya. Como les escribí el domingo pasado, todo empieza por nosotros mismos, nuestro propio marco mental. También es cierto que el decirles esto es como en el dibujo anterior, los dos ovalos y tal vez unas 20 lineas mas.

Y en definitiva, mi intención no es desanimarlos, todo lo contrario. Habrá algunos que tengan la habilidad de decirme: "Ha, un búho, si es lo mas fácil...!" - habrá otros que me digan: "pero si solo se dibujar flores!" - la transición sera fácil con solo un poco de guía. Pero aquellos, la mayoría en realidad, que tienen ganas, pero que lo han estado posponiendo por uno u otro pretexto. Aunque lo llames razones, eso no les quita la condición de pretextos.

Lo mismo con el proceso de innovación. Usualmente se necesita un facilitador, un coach, un... como quieran llamarnos. Alguien que les acompañe en el proceso, que les guie en, a veces, desde que lápiz tomar, si suave o duro, que tanta punta sacarle, muy afilado o a medias; y como tomar el lápiz. A veces creemos saber, pero la realidad es que tal vez si, pero si no lo hacemos al 100%, sirve exactamente de lo mismo que si no lo supiéramos.

También es cierto que al tener a alguien que nos apoye, que nos guie en el camino siempre es alentador. El proceso de innovación es usualmente un proceso solitario. En demasiadas ocasiones (no todas) la mayor parte de la gente, del equipo, nos ve con Cara de What, e incluso algunos se toman la molestia de estorbar o incluso sabotear.

Por lo menos tener a alguien que nos diga: "estas loco pero vas bien, pase lo que pase, no te rindas, y es mas, pintale suavecito aquí, borrale este pedacito y rayale muy fuerte allá, y ya veras".  O algo semejante... Digo, fuera de nuestras propias cabezas es agradable.

También y seguramente lo que necesitan no sea un búho...

I was left thinking last time I wrote regarding the reasons I'm not posting more about specific business innovation techniques.

Here goes one. Lets draw an Owl:

Sorry to say that is the truth. There is no magic recipe for however we desire it or too many websites post articles about doing it. As I wrote last post, it all starts within us, within our own mind frame. That would be about the two starting ovals and a few more lines.

Definitely, and No, my intention is far from discouraging you. There will be some that'll say: "HA, an Owl, that's easy!" There will be others that'll say: "But all I can draw is apples!", Ok, that is a good start and with little guidance you'll be alright. But there are, most really, that want to, but are procrastinating for any false reasoning, reasons that ultimately are postponing the inevitable.

Same with innovation processes. Usually you'll need a coach, consultant or whatever you want to call us. Someone that accompanies you through the process, that guides you in what could be, from which pencil to take, soft or hard, how sharp the point or not that much, and even how to take and handle the pencil. Sometimes we think we know. Truth is, maybe but if we don't go at it 100%, it is worth exactly as much as if we didn't know squat.

It is also true that having someone there to support, to guide us is always encouraging. The innovation process is usually a lonely path. In too many occasions (not all), most of our own people, team or whatever will look at us what the What Face. Some will even bother to blockade our path, or worse, sabotage it.

To at least have someone to tell us: "You might be crazy, but whatever happens, don't give up. In fact, draw a few light lines over here, erase that spot, and draw heavy ones over there, and you'll see". Or something of the like... I mean, at least someone outside our own heads is rather nice.

And I'm also guessing you are not really in need of an owl...
